News me that rcury would be given the axe of the Ford Motor Company points to a trend that is common to me a Costa Rican car manufacturers: the demise of one or more tags after years of service.
GM, Ford and Chrysler have each started, purchased, developed and eventually stopped a number of car brands down through the years, perhaps appreciate more than most people. Let us take a look at Detroit 3 and the brands that eventually was cut loose and the reasons why they were let go.
General Motors--GM has built itself up me ti and again only to tear down in an attempt to recreate itself. As late as 2009 GM 8 brands had common to North me a Costa Rican and 4 more Holden, including GM Daewoo Opel, and Vauxhall popular in somewhere else. Manage me brand nt chop. car manufacturer could not keep up with them all. Passed in 2003 was followed recently, Oldsmobile Pontiac, Saturn, Saab and me Hum r. Only Saab survives, owned by another car manufacturer. Step back in me ti and LaSalle, Lafayette, Oakland and Viking were among other GM brands completed many years ago. Most discarded brands have pocheras sales from other trade mark or in LaSalle was longer. LaSalle was developed as a brand for Cadillac.
Ford--unlike GM, Ford has not gone crazy fire. What they did over the years was to receive the premium European brands that eventually drew the entire Ford Empire. Aston Martin, Jaguar and Land Rover are all gone and Volvo will soon join. in the 1950s, Ford has failed in its Edsel brand and 1980s me rkur had a short life. Edsel was one over trademark of Ford me while rkur sold with Lincoln me-rcury. Much too confusing for me rs consu to understand, to offer products which were not what me rs consu wanted.
Chrysler--unlike its chop like me a Costa Rican competitors, Chrysler is going in the opposite direction and now manages four brands. Framework was separated from Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep to accede in the fold for Chrysler. Plymouth was killed around this century, a few years after mark Eagle was closed down. Eagle was what was left of AMC a car manufacturer Chrysler acquired in the 1980s. Plymouth was Chrysler's budget brand sacked by Dodge and the newly bolstered Jeep line.
We have also seen the arrival and will me other Costa Rican car companies and brands including Packard, Pierce-Arrow, Studebaker, Nash Rambler and so many more. In the coming years we will likely see other brands me and co, a practice that seems to have gained acceptance in recent years.
